PERI's Shouvik Chakraborty and coauthor Rohit Azad argue that the Green Growth framework provides a transitional path towards a sustainable future but stops short of imagining a world beyond capitalism, and the Degrowth/Post-Growth framework has a post-capitalist imagination but perhaps not a concrete transitional path from here to there. Instead, they suggest, we need both a transitional path from capitalism to an alternate system as well as a vision of a society that is based on equal rights, opportunities and outcomes-- a fremework they call "Socialist Green Growth."
