Some Elements of a Progressive International Trade Policy

Arthur MacEwan offers an alternative to the neoliberal free trade of recent decades and the “reciprocal tariffs” trade policy of the Trump administration. MacEwan contends that a progressive trade policy “should start with the recognition that there are real gains that can be obtained, and should be preserved, from international commerce,” but also must “focus on protecting workers, not jobs.”
