Does India Have a Right to Burn Fossil Fuels?

In a commentary published by The Hindu, PERI's Shouvik Chakraborty and Rohit Azad refute a growing popular argument that India has a right to continue burning fossil fuels. Instead, the authors advance that moving to a clean energy economy is the better path for India's economic development and, more obviously, for global ecological welfare.
