In Part 1, the authors present an overall picture of the spread of COVID-19 in these South Asian nations.

In Part 2, the authors look at how prepared – in terms of health infrastructure and income levels – the four countries were to deal with the pandemic. They also examine the public health measures each government implemented to respond to the crisis.

In Part 3, the authors discuss government economic policies and the politics that are shaping the response to the pandemic.
