In a response to Leonard Rodberg’s claim that “nuclear power…is reliable, scalable, and safe,” PERI’s Robert Pollin discusses the very real and current danger of relying on nuclear power to address climate change. He argues that “Rodberg’s timing in making such assertions could not be worse. They come exactly when the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant in Ukraine, the largest nuclear facility in Europe, is under intense siege.”
