Chirag Lala
Research Assistant
Chirag Lala is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He works with Professors Robert Pollin, Jeannette Wicks-Lim, and Shouvik Chakraborty to conduct input-output analysis on decarbonization and industrial policy programs. This research identifies state policy frameworks to dramatically cut greenhouse gas emissions through public and private investment in zero-emission generation, storage, energy efficiency, electrification, and clean manufacturing. It then assesses the labor income outcomes of those investments: new employment, wages, and job characteristics. Chirag’s research interests are in macroeconomics, finance, industrial policy, and the political economy of decarbonization.
