Can policies designed to fight global warming also be an engine of economic growth and job creation in the United States? In this column in New Labor Forum, Robert Pollin explores how we can move away from the myth that that implementing strong environmental standards necessarily entails serious economic sacrifices. He lays out a program of public investments in conservation and renewable energy which not only overturn the logic that a green economy and economic growth are mutually exclusive, but lays a pathway toward environmental sustainability and economic justice.
